Moxa
Moxa sticks

The stimulation of acupucture points through heat is called Moxa or Moxibustion. The applied heat is obtained by burning a dried plant called Artemisia sinensis or Artemisia vulgaris, well known under the word mugwort.

Moxa is especially recommended for the treatment of energy deficiency. Experienced acupucturists often use moxa between the needle treatments.

Mugwort is traditonally grown in the cold north of China and the mountain regions of Japan. Recently mugwort is also panted in France and Spain.

Especially the moxa plants from France, biologically cultivated and rolled in high quality paper are known for their outstanding quality.
