Encouragement in practicing acupuncture and electro-acupuncture in spinal cord injuries
Dr. med. B. Disselhoff, Wetzlar/Germany
A new review on the effect of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture in the treatment of the secondary consequences of spinal injuries shows precautious but rather positive results. The authors are observing that electro-acupuncture is showing encouraging results in the treatment of neurological long-term consequences such as sensibility disorders, movement disorders and urinary control. Acupuncture on patients with spinal cord injuries is further showing positive results in the treatment of neurological symptoms and pain.
